Speakers
Dr. Nirav Y. Raval is a highly skilled, board-certified advanced heart failure and transplant cardiologist. He completed an undergraduate degree from Kent State University. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. After completing internal medicine residency at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, he fulfilled both cardiovascular diseases and advanced heart failure and heart transplantation fellowships at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Raval has contributed to the advanced heart failure and transplant community by authoring and reviewing numerous abstracts and peer-reviewed publications in multiple societies. His heart failure research interests have been predominantly in device therapy for heart failure. His clinical interest areas in transplant research include donor recipient matching, donor management, and non-invasive assessment of graft injury. He is a national board member of Mended Hearts, Inc., a patient advocacy group. Dr. Raval‘s board focus has been on increasing patient awareness of heart failure and its therapies including transplantation, mechanical support, and the role of clinical research. He is affiliated with St. Joseph’s Hospital and Morton Plant Hospital.
David Wiles is a certified advanced practice registered nurse, serving the Tampa community. He received his undergraduate degree in nursing from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida and then earned his graduate degree in nursing from the University of Tampa in Tampa. David, as part of BayCare Medical Group, is able to identify and understand complex health issues necessary to care for the needs of his patients. His comprehensive medical knowledge allows him to approach each circumstance in a professional manner, while providing care and servicing patient needs. He is also certified in basic life support, advanced cardiovascular life support and, cardiac telemetry and rhythm interpretation.
