Update on the Legislative Changes to the ARNP/APRN license

Posted over 5 years ago by Gail Sadler

As part of the implementation of HB1337 from the 2018 Legislative Session, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) and Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) licenses will be converted to Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).

The Florida Board of Nursing will be printing and mailing your new APRN license the week of October 22, 2018, to the address we have on file. Please take a few minutes to verify this information by going to www.FLHealthsource.gov and clicking Account Login.

  1. Select Yes, enter your user ID and password then click Sign In. Once you are logged onto your account, the Dashboard page will appear.
  2. Select the drop-down box under Manage My License and select Request Address Change.
  3. Click Select and follow the prompts to complete the process.

Your current ARNP or CNS license will be downgraded to a Registered Nurse (RN) license on October 22, 20181. After this date, you can verify both licenses at www.FLHealthsource.gov.

Note 1 ARPNs who applied using a Multistate Compact License from another state will not have a Florida RN license.
