March 13, 2025, marked a significant milestone for HB 883—but our work is far from over!

Thanks to the work of FNPN's lobbyist, Capitol Team, and members, HB 883 has successfully advanced through one important committee, bringing us one step closer to improving mental healthcare access for the people of Florida.

Please Do Not Get Comfortable Because we have to face and survive several critical committees before this bill becomes law.

We need your help to keep the momentum going! This Means You.

Please take a moment to contact your state representative and urge them to vote YES on HB 883. This critical legislation will expand access to much-needed mental health services, ensuring more Floridians receive the care they deserve. As a resident of Florida and an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, I request that you vote YES on HB 883. This bill would improve access to mental health services for patients in need by allowing certain psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners to practice to the full extent of their education, training, and licensure. For many patients, there is limited access to mental health services based on the lack of availability of psychiatrists.
